Lowell edges Kenowa Hills, 42-37
LOWELL -- Mike Koster and Sam Oberlin each scored nine points for the host Red Arrows in a game that saw neither team hit more than 14 points in a quarter. Kenowa Hills hit a three point field goal at the end of the first half to tie the game at 21-21 going into the break. Michael Sutton and Matt Van Gessel both scored 11 points for the Knights, with Van Gessel having 11 rebounds. Also scoring for Lowell were Shane Stokes 5,  Kyle Rozema 3, Kevin Gillman 6, Josh Hettinga, Andrew Min 4.

Oberlin Koster lead Lowell past Sparta
SPARTA -- Lowell improved to 7-5 overall and 5-4 in the OK White with a 69-46 victory over the Spartans of Sparta Friday night. Mike Koster had 17 points and 12 rebounds to highlight the Red Arrows' road win. Teammate Sam Oberlin had a game-high 18 points. Nick VanDyke scored 11 points for the Spartans, who were outscored 35-21 in the second half. Also scoring for Lowell were Shane Stokes 3, Kevin Gillman 6, Kyler Krieg 4, Chris Raimer 5, Josh Hettinga 8, Andrew Min 5, Ryan Lane 3.

Lowell falls to Unity Christian, 76-50
HUDSONVILLE -- If Scott Soodsma had all the answers, he'd gladly use them to bolster Unity Christian's run at an O-K White basketball championship. But the Crusaders coach is the first to admit he has little idea how his players have transformed themselves from an ordinary shooting club to one of the hottest in the conference. Unity Christian used that improved shooting to clobber Lowell 76-50 Friday night and stay within a game of O-K White leader Cedar Springs. Full Story

Pioneers defeat Red Arrows, 60-56
LOWELL-- Composure was the deciding factor Monday night when the East Grand Rapids basketball team traveled to Lowell for a makeup game in the O-K White. The Pioneers kept their composure, the Red Arrows didn't and the Pioneers won 60-56. "This is a great road win for us because not only did we beat Lowell, but we kept our composure when everything seemed to be going against us," said EGR coach Ed Crisman, whose team is 6-2 overall, 4-2 in the White. Red Arrows sting Yellow Jackets, 42-32
LOWELL-- Mike Koster scored 14 points and pulled down 5 rebounds, as the host Red Arrows used a 20-10 first-half run for the margin of victory. The Red Arrows won their fifth straight and improved to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the OK White. Lowell's defense frustrated the Yellow Jackets all game. Justin Smith led Yellow Jackets scorers with eight. Also scoring for Lowell were Shane Stokes 6, Sam Oberlin 7, Ryan Lane 7, Frank Mulder 6 and Andrew Min 2. Lowell will face the East Grand Rapids on Monday at home.

Oberlin, Stokes lead Lowell past Northview
GRAND RAPIDS-- The Red Arrows won their fourth straight with a 67-45 win on the road vs. the Northview Wildcats. Shane Stokes and Sam Oberlin lead the way for Lowell scoring 15 points each. The win improves the Red Arrows record to 3-1 in the OK White and 5-2 overall. Also scoring for Lowell were Mike Koster 7, Kyle Rozema 7, Kyler Krieg 4, Chris Raimer 6, Frank Mulder 9 and Andrew Min 4. Lowell will face the Greenville Yellow Jackets next Friday.

Lowell tops Kenowa Hills, 48-40
LOWELL-- The Red Arrows took advantage of four players who scored eight or more points to escape with the road verdict. Andrew Min led the win with 12 points. Mike Koster had eight points and 11 rebounds. The Knights' Zach Molner had 18 points and Michael Sutton 10 for Kenowa Hills, which trailed 28-17 at the half. Also scoring for Lowell were Sam Oberlin (9), Kevin Gillman (6), Kyler Kreig (8), Kyle Rozema (2), Shane Stokes (3). Lowell will face the Trojans of Middleville on January 13th at home.

Red Arrows beat Spartans, 71-41
LOWELL-- Sam Oberlin scored 19 points while Shane Stokes and Kyle Rozema had 14 a piece as host Lowell opened a 20-7 first-quarter lead and coasted. Mike Koster and Ryan Lane each had eight rebounds for Lowell. Josh Montez had 15 points and Mike Platt 11 to lead Sparta. Aaron Wheater had six rebounds for the Spartans. Also scoring for Lowell were Mike Koster (8), Kevin Gillman (4), Tyler Kreig (2), Frank Mulder (2), Andrew Min (5), Ryan Lane (3). Lowell will face the Pioneers from East Grand Rapids on January 6th after the holiday break.

Red Arrows fall to Rangers
FOREST HILLS-- The Red Arrows fell to 1-1 overall with a non-league defeat at the hands of Forest Hills Central.  The Rangers were lead in scoring by 6'7" junior Luke Lettinga with 16 points. Lowell's Sam Oberlin lead the Red Arrows with 10 points. Also scoring for Lowell were Shane Stokes (7), Mike Koster (5), Kevin Gillman (4), Kyler Kreig (5), Andrew Min (2), Ryan Lane (2). The Red Arrows will travel to Cedar Springs to open league play. The Red Hawks are the areas second ranked team according to the Grand Rapids Press.

Lowell defeats Lakewood in opener
LOWELL-- Lowell opened the 2003-2004 season with a 49-37 win over Lakewood.  The Red Arrows were lead in scoring by senior Sam Oberlin with 14 points. Oberlin also lead the Red Arrows with 7 rebounds. Lowell was 18/50 shooting (36%) and 5/9 (59.6%) from behind the arc. Also scoring for Lowell were Shane Stokes (6), Mike Koster (4), Kevin Gillman (11), Kyler Krieg (3), Andrew Min (11).  Lowell will face former OK White foe Forest Hills Central Friday night.
